Historical information

The first settlements date from the Greek colonization period. (Callatis Citadel). "Mangaliacity (Pangalia) is mentioned in a map made in Pisa. (12th century).

The resort develops together with the other seaside resorts from the Black Sea Coast.

Marine climate. The annual average temperature is 11.2 C (22C in July and 0C in January). The winters are mild, with a little snow. The sun shines 10-12 hours a day in summer; the annual average is 2400 hours a year. The winds are almost permanent, with an average speed of 4m/s, blowing from northeast and west (marine breeze). The annual average rainfalls quantity is 380mm.
