The resort is situated in the southernmost part of Romania, on the Black Sea Coast (41 km far from Constanta), at the same latitude as the French city named Nisa.

Saturn is a new resort, affiliated to the Romanian spas only from 1972. The resort developed together with the other resorts from the Black Sea Coast. Administratively, the city belongs to Mangalia.
Marine climate. The annual average temperature is 11.2 C (22C in July and 0C in January). The winters are mild, with a little snow. The sun shines 10-12 hours a day in summer; the annual average is 2400 hours a year. The winds are almost permanent, with an average speed of 4m/s, blowing from northeast and west (marine breeze). The annual average rainfalls quantity is 380mm.
